QUEBEC INVESTOR

The Quebec Ministère will accept a maximum of 1900 applications for a selection certificate under the Investor Program, including a maximum of 1330 from applicants from China (including Hong Kong and Macao). These applications will be shared among financial intermediaries selected and permitted by the Quebec Ministère.

Please note, that it is utmost difficult for Iranian applicants to file an application as many financial intermediaries simply do not accept them due to sanction permit processing problems. However, we were able to secure spots and have still some available. Kindly contact our office at 416 495 8170 for the last status of open spots.

The intake dates for applications submitted under the Investor Program are from now to February  2017. However, Investor applicants who prove, by means of a test recognized by the Ministère, that they have an advanced intermediate knowledge of French, are not subject to this maximum number of applications and can submit their application at any time.

The program requirements are

  • Net assets of at least $1,600,000 CAN obtained legally, excluding the amounts received by donation less than six months before the date on which the application was filed
  • Experience in management in a legal farming, commercial or industrial business (incl. Government and Agencies), or in a legal professional business where the staff, excluding the investor, occupies at least the equivalent of two full-time jobs. Management experience must be for at least two years in the five years preceding the application consisting of duties related to the planning, management and control of financial resources and of human or material resources under your authority. It does not include experience acquired in the context of an apprenticeship, training or specialization process attested to by a diploma.
  • Intend to settle in Québec and sign an agreement to invest $800,000 CAN with a financial intermediary (broker or trust company) authorized to participate in the Investor Program.

FEDERAL INVESTOR

The Immigrant Investor Venture Capital (IIVC) Pilot Program has reopened. CIC will accept applications from February 13 to April 15, 2015, or until a maximum of 500 applications are received.

Approximately 60 applications will be randomly selected and approved for the IIVC Fund. Applicants must have a personal net worth of CDN $10 million or more. The net worth must have been acquired through lawful, private sector business or investment activities. Personal net worth acquired by inheritance or in the value of primary residence will not count towards the personal net worth requirement.

The applicant must also be willing and able to make an at-risk investment of CDN $2 million in the Immigrant Investor Venture Capital (IIVC) Fund for approximately 15 years.

Further the applicant must meet the minimum language levels according the Canadian Language Benchmark of 5 in either English or French for all four language abilities. For education the applicant must prove either a completed Canadian post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate of at least one year OR a foreign equivalent, as validated by an original Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report from a CIC-designated organization.

Applicants with a personal net worth of $50 million or more acquired through lawful, private sector business or investment activities, can request an exemption from the education requirement.
